Cyber Essentials – Accreditation
DocCentrics secures Cyber Essentials scheme accreditation.
Document Centric Solutions Limited (DocCentrics), a leading supplier of cloud based customer communications solutions, announced today that it has achieved Cyber Essential accreditation.
Cyber Essentials is the new Government-backed and industry-supported scheme to guide businesses in protecting themselves against cyber threats. The scheme aims to help organisations implement basic levels of protection against cyber-attack, demonstrating to their customers that they take cyber security seriously.
Early this year, Minister for the Cabinet Office, Francis Maude, stated in a press release, ‘It is vital that we take steps to reduce levels of cyber security risk in our supply chain. Cyber Essentials provides a cost effective foundation of basis measures that can defend against the increasing threat of cyber-attack.’
The five basic controls within the Cyber Essentials scheme were chosen because, when properly implemented, they will help to protect businesses against unskilled internet-based attackers using commodity capabilities, which are freely available on the internet.
Simon Howell, Director at DocCentrics comments, “We are committed to providing our clients with the most secure platform possible. We are constantly improving our processes and continue to centre our service design around availability, integrity, resilience and data security”.
From October 2014, it became a UK government requirement that all suppliers involved in sensitive and personal information handling contracts are certified against the Cyber Essentials scheme.
Apart from Cyber Essential accreditation, DocCentrics already holds PCI-DSS and ISO27001 certification and is an approved government supplier through its G-Cloud initiative.
